This day in 1940 British Prime Minister Winston Churchill gave an impassioned speech and praised the efforts of British serviceman who were fighting in World War 2, saying, "Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few."

The 25 year old was shot through the head while serving with the Royal Marines in Afghanistan's Helmand province and miracously survived and is currently recovering from his injuries.
